REAL AUDIOAnimal Testing
"It's a bunny or your brother" I was
walking through my local supermarket and out of the corner of my
eye noticed the women's cosmetics section. On one of the bottles of face cream it said
" No animals testing was used in the making of this
product". And I thought to myself (as I often do) "Why
the hell not!" Why should anyone care if a bunny or monkey was
used in determining if this product is safe for human use. They are animals! And seriously what practical use do rabbits have anyway? They don't do anything! For
the most part you can't eat them. They don't protect anything. When
you take them home as pets they just get sick and die. Oh yea
Easter! They are cute at Easter. But then after that you here things like "Hey Marge what happen
to that cute little bunny you got Susie for Easter?". "Oh it got sick and
died". And you say "They are sure
frail little creatures." And then you go about your business like nothing
ever happened. You don't mourn for the bunnies! Actually as soon as the
rabbit starts to get sick you think..."You
know I could have spent that $4 dollars on a couple of packs of smokes!"
But what you do is chalk it up as a learning experience for Susie. Now she
understands that if you don't care of things well enough they die.
Good for you. Now that's good parenting. All you have to do is
practice what you preach. Do you remember the guy who had the
baboon heart transplant? This was a man who's life was extended because
we killed Magilla Gorilla and took it's heart and gave it to him. Well if he was against animal testing before that he wasn't after. If someone said that your
dog held the key to curing baldness do you think that you would
actually have a choice? Can you imagine the number of bald men
knocking on your door each day? It could be thousands a week and
maybe in your own home. Anyway... I personally think that women's
make-up adds little to nothing to who and what they are as people but
if it makes them feel better about themselves....well you know how that is. So let's make sure that the stuff they put on their faces doesn't make things
worse. Remember that the most accurate way to tell how a product is
going to affect a human being is to test it on a human being. It
has happened in the past and who is to say that it isn't happening now!
If you know for sure please let me know. For right now we have a choice and wouldn't you rather they used a bunny than your brother? I know I do.
